Waiting Game

We are playing the waiting game, waiting for someone to kid during this nice weather spell. Don't they know it is the perfect time to "GO!"? There are a couple of does out there that look close. We will keep you posted....

Best of luck with your kidding. We had crazy weather for ours last month. Hope your's goes well. Really enjoy reading your blog....

Thanks guys...we had twins born today...all went well. We did have a triplets born during the extremely cold and it didn't work out so well. :( So I feel for you during the crazy weather.

Our Goat History

We first purchased goats to help keep the brush down on the ranch in 1996 or 97. These were big wethers that eventually climbed the bluff's edge in spots we could not get fence and would get out. So they were sold after a few years.

Rock climbing evolved at the ranch and we started bolting routes in the bluff. That is when we realized we could bolt fence to our bluff.

The ranch had started to really become a jungle and goats were needed! We purchased a group of mixed breed does (thinking how fun it would be to have kids running about) and one lazy boer buck who's breeding days we pretty much done.

Later we became more serious about our goat breeding program and purchased our first Kiko buck in 2004. We have been using Kiko genetics ever since and are very pleased. In the late summer of 2009 we traveled down to TX and purchased some black pb Spanish doelings and now have two PB Spanish bucks. We look forward to their kids in 2011.

This blog will be our goat journal of our goat adventures. We hope you enjoy.
